What is different about BioBrew?

BioBrew is a fresh living product delivered to your farm at a price that makes effective dosages economically attractive.

Our production protocols have been reviewed by Lincoln University and our products are quality tested by Lincoln University on a regular basis.

How long does BioBrew stay fresh?

We recommend using BioBrew within two weeks of delivery.

Testing performed by Lincoln University indicates the microbial numbers in BioBrew are stable for up to three weeks.

How should I store BioBrew?

Keep containers tightly capped and out of direct sunlight. Shed conditions are appropriate for storage.

What’s that stuff at the bottom of the container?

The accumulated material often found at the bottom of containers is rich in microbes and should not be wasted! Shake container before use.

Rinse containers and provide rinse water to stock.

What products do you offer?

We produce BioBrew, NZ’s only fresh microbial tool for conventional agriculture and BioBrew Organic which is certified for use with organic stock by AsureQuality (#0952)

We operate NZ’s only network of craft microbial breweries and can provide customized brews upon request.

What is in BioBrew?

Water, feed-grade molasses (conventional product only), organic raw sugar, GRAS (Generally Regarded As Safe) microbial culture that includes lactic acid bacteria and organic yeasts, and a small amount of buckwheat flour, kelp and either dolomite or lime.

What do I do with all of the empty containers?

BioBrew collects the empty containers for cleaning and reuse. This is environmentally responsible and results in considerable savings for farmers.

Why do you use an ear tag as a label?

Our cleaning program is the reason we use the ear tags as labels; paper labels would be destroyed by our cleaning process.

How do I get BioBrew delivered to my farm?

In Waikato, Bay of Plenty, Canterbury, Otago and Southland we currently offer fortnightly direct delivery to regular users of BioBrew in 10 and 20 litre containers at no additional cost. We will be adding to our delivery areas soon.

One-off orders and orders from regions outside of our delivery areas are handled by conventional shipping methods.

Is BioBrew suitable for use in cows, sheep, deer, horses, pigs, chickens, goats, alpacas, etc?

BioBrew is suitable for use in all domesticated species at all stages of development.

How should I administer BioBrew to my stock?

With microbial tools, the correct amount is some and the correct method is regularly. Put another way, a smaller dose of BioBrew given frequently is generally more effective than an occasional larger dose. Regularity is more important than precise dosage.

BioBrew may be added to feed, stock water, or direct drenched.

BioBrew should be introduced to feed just before it is distributed to stock and should not be allowed to dry out before it is ingested.

BioBrew may be introduced to stock water with an in-line dispenser such as a dosatron, via a trough dispenser, or simply poured into troughs as stock move into a new paddock.

BioBrew may be added to milk/milk substitute for young animals.

I use magnesium chloride in my dosatron. Will that harm the microbes in BioBrew?

Many farmers use BioBrew in combination with inputs such as magnesium chloride or trace elements that are somewhat harsh for microbes and still obtain very good results.

We recommend that BioBrew be added to the dosatron barrel last, i.e., at maximum dilution, to minimize the effect of other additives.

Some farmers have adopted the practice of filling the dosatron barrel in the morning with magnesium chloride and other inputs and waiting until the afternoon to add BioBrew and top up the barrel with water to further improve the dilution effect. Some farmers have also chosen alternative inputs such as magnesium sulphate that are somewhat gentler on microbial life.

Is it possible to overdose my stock with BioBrew?

BioBrew is completely non-toxic and causes no withholding for milk or meat. Doses far in excess of recommended doses will not cause any harmful effects.
